I have no basis of comparison, since in the USA our episodes are seven or more years behind the current ones. I find them interesting and watch the two episodes aired weekly.We are in the episodes where Kat returns to Walford and Dorothy is learning to drive. It sounds like we have some interesting twists to look forward to. I prefer shows like Eastenders because the characters are much more believable than similar programming here.

I used to watch Eastenders...I really did...stopped watching it when Janine pushed Barry off the edge of the cliff cuz it then went down hill...

It was better when there were real bad guys (Den, or when Phil used to be bad), all the bad guys ended up dying or going to prison (I really want Lucas to break out of prison and come back for Denise).
There isn't enough twists anymore, or the secrets are bad, they think that the "Who killed Lucy?" story line is "awesome" but i still find it rubbish. I likes it when Phil was going to marry that mad woman who jumped off the building, or one of the best moments was when there was that massive car crash with Phil, Ian, Peter and Ben and they went underwater and almost drowned.
There was the soap awards the other day and i noticed that Hollyoaks and Corenation Street have more action than eastenders. It's such a shame. I hardly ever watch it anymore, they could bring a serial killer into the show, or make Tifany get kidnapped or something, that would make it a lot more interesting in my opinion.

I just think the storylines were better and realistic. For example, in 2007, Max and Stacey's affair was exposed at Christmas day. This was the first time they actually showed Max cheating on Tanya. In 2012 (I don't know if it's that year pacifically), Max started to chat on her multiple times and Tanya would forgive him. It got very boring. The storylines now are unentertaining (except from Lucy's death).
