Definitely Letterman. He's a comic genius (as he kiddingly calls himself). He's the most original. Others copy him (including Leno). Leno has stolen more segments from David than anyone. .....talking to people on the street.....funny articles in the newspapers....etc.
Kimmel, Fallon, Conan and Ferguson all have one thing in common... they're all imitating Letterman's show. He is the original and only one worth watching.

Well, I always preferred Carson; no one else can hold a candle to him. I did enjoy watching Leno though, especially when he would do the 'news headlines' feature.....soooo funny; always tuned in JUST for that segment.
