Because the target audience is males aged 18-24. Their target audience thinks lesbians are hot. Lesbian scenes means more guys 18-24 will tune in to check it out.

There is more people more accepting of gays and it's being told in alot of shows now.
It's cool & cutting edge right now to be gay, so they probably just did it for the ratings. Doesn't say much for the story line if they'll stoop for a ratings point or two ...
I like it! The gay/bi community getting some recognition! Woohoo
It's almost like they're promoting homosexuality. They took one of my favorite characters and made her into a lesbian in the most recent episode. Really? I almost don't want to watch the show anymore.
Quit the agenda.
