First of all, Ellen was not fired. CoverGirl and Ellen still have a contract and a working relationship. Secondly, CoverGirl is not just about makeup. It's also about skin care and given that women of a certain age are even more interested in skin care, Ellen made an ideal choice as a spokeswoman.
Lastly, you may not like Ellen's lifestyle or Ellen herself but clearly CoverGirl has run the numbers and more women respond to their product with her as their spokeswoman. Most people don't buy a product because Ellen is gay. They buy a product because, when she wears it, the results are obvious.
The question and supposed "Best Answer," are just rumors on the internet. The truth is she was not dropped and is still a cover girl.
Covergirl didn't drop Ellen, as of now when I checked the website she was still listed on there. I have been seeing many ads on the internet saying they dropped her. They didn't. She is still a covergirl!
I seen the adds too. Had a spare minute and did some digging but didn't click the ad.
Others may not have took the time and done the search.
If completely untrue, Ellen should sue for defamation. The ad may have been "click bait" but it damages Ellen's image at the same time. Just look at the number of responses here.

Since she thinks she's a man, why would they use her as a covergirl spokes person. She has never been an attractive women, at least not to me....I dont c where the makeup is making a difference...Even though I know CG dont give a rats butt whether or not I buy their product, but because they are using a Lesbian, I wont buy it..I dont have anything against her, because I dont know her...The life style is what I disagree with...

What's really crazy is why did covergirl hire a woman who is living her life as a man everyone knows that men unless they are gay don't wear makeup to look and feel pretty. I literally stop buying covergirls product after they showed Ellen wearing their makeup trying to look and feel pretty it's so asinine on so many levels I wanted to throw-up so good that Ellen made a fool out of covergirl i hope they learn from their mistake and use real women to promote their product of beauty.
In answer to some...I don't believe Ellen lives her life as a man, she is simply a woman who happens to be gay. Not like she had a sex change! Many lesbians wear makeup & conversely many straight women do not because we are unique & most women understand this. Not all women, lesbian or otherwise, have long flowing hair & wear fake eyelashes or bright red lipstick. It looks like like this is just a list of opinions. I clicked onto the news headline and it did not say she had been dropped. Just another scheme to click onto the headline, the same as the headline that she had been lying for years just to get you to click on the Covergirl ad. If she has been dropped, it's from very poor advertising. Their advertising makes her look like a liar and bad business woman.

Who would care anyway? All those make-up commercials are a bunch of hype anyway. A good example...mascara commercials. Every cover girl wears a set of fake eyelashes in those commercials. Mascara never will make your eyelashes as long as a football field. Face makeup? Well those picture picture perfect models would never look as good as they do without air brushing and camera filters. I say we should ban all makeup commericals...

IT doesn't look like they have dropped her. She said yesterday on the show she was a Covergirl. Also, both her website and the Covergirl website still have each other on it.
She did have a stye on her eye and had to go without makeup for a few days on the one side of her face, but surely they can't be mad about that.
