The U.S. abandoned Afghanistan after "Charlie Wilson's War" instead of helping them rebuild the country, cut off the aid as well. He felt this was a betrayal, like a lot of the Muslim world.
The West stood by during the Lebanese Civil Wars, Israel's involvement or spectating during the Christian Phalange Militia of Lebanon attack on the Sabra and Chatilla Palestinian refugee camps. Since the U.S. was a the ally of Israel and it's creator of the state in 1948, he hated the U.S. for helping Israel.
He saw Israel as the invader, the infidel, like the U.S. He hated Israel for helping to destroy Lebanon and hated the West because the weapons came from the U.S. In 1991 during Operation Desert Storm he resented the Saudi Royal Family for letting the U.S. military go into the Muslim holy sites of Mecca and Medina in order to protect the people and the oil fields in Kuwait, which Saddam was burning. He hated the U.S. for intruding on the holiest sites in Islam and he vowed to drive them out, Saudi Arabia didn't feel as he did and after the failed attempt on the Saudi King, he was exiled.
He saw the United States as corrupt, capitalistic, morally bankrupt and greedy.
Bottom line, he was a TERRORIST, he didn't need a reason to hate the United States, but he found many, he's FISH FOOD now.

Saddam was betrayed by U.S. after loosing 8 -year ,proxy war, with Iran and he was hung in Baghdad and U.S. not moving an inch to help him.
Hosni Mubarak and his family serve U.S.for long years but left him to fight alone with his own people and finally was overthrown and sentence to life imprisonment in Egypt.
Now come the turn of Osama bin Laden U.S. used him to fight the Ruusian army ousted from Afghanistan with the Talaban and then turn against him by accusing a lot of cook up stories to him . Finally they killed him and throw him in to the sea.
I am wondering right now as Israel is the close associate of U.S. to look after the interest of U.S. in middle east, what would be the final destination of these two countries still to be seen.
