Those buildings were a symbol of American power.
That wasn't the first time they attacked the WTC. They also bombed it in 1993. It caused minimal damage compared to what they did on 9/11.
Basically, they did that because they think some magical God in the sky told them to. If Islam is meant to be about "peace" as they often say, I don't see how 9/11 accomplished anything. Heck, a few hundred people they killed were also Muslims. Killing their own people. It just doesn't make any sense, and never will.

A large number of the businesses in the World Trade Center dealt with finance and commerce. By attacking the World Trade Center, it attacked a major symbol of our economy.
It's just a conspiracy blackmail job from the government it never really happened. The towers were demolished by the government and the planes didnt hit them only missed it by like a hair. It was a planned event.
Maybe because it was a major building not like a mcdonalds, and its one of the largest and tallest buildings so it would get more attention in the media.
