The stories people tell MIGHT be true but the fighting is definitely scripted. There's actually a bell that rings that tells them when to attack.
Also, the person I knew who was on the show (mind you about 5 years ago) went with a friend of hers and the boyfriend of the friend. She pretended to be the other woman - the show was aware that even the story itself was fake but encouraged it and added a few suggestions they could use to spice it up.
The show was not ALWAYS so fake. Many years ago most of the guests were quite real. I have several recordings of some of the Klan/Nazi episodes (I find them fascinating) from 10 years ago at least and many of those people are real and the story/interview is real.
The people aren't fake, the people are who they say they are.. but the scenarios and drama is 99.99% fake. My aunt was actually on Jerry Springer and they coach you and have you read scripts for the most part. That why it sounds so scripted. They paid her a small sum, I not sure if all episodes are fake, but the one she was on was.
A long time ago when he first came out it was real.
Nowadays they are running out of stories to tell and make up a lot of them so they are called "fake"..
Because of what happens on Springer's shows is so poorly acted that it gives Professional Wrestling more of a sense of reality..... lol

There have been guest like Irv Rubin from the Jewish Defense league, the Ku Klux Klan, Nazi leader August Kreis III and the Black Hebrew Israelites all of them are real so why do people say its fake?
