Nowadays, I'm not sure really...
TV is on its way out as an entertainment medium.
I can understand why someone might want to be involved with a great story production, such as Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones... but most of the audience for such things comes from the internet, or from DVD purchases. Series such as this are shown on TV, but television only plays a limited role in their exposure to the world.
Maybe some people out there want to partake in a game show, or a reality-television show, or a sitcom... if their objective is fame and fortune, then TV simply doesn't provide the opportunity that it did back in the 20th century... better to be a youtube sensation with 10,000,000 hits. Reality TV is an old concept now, and reality-TV stars come and go rapidly. Reality TV can give you a break, a chance... but unless there is genuinely something unique and enduring and entertaining about your contribution to the world, the attention of the masses will shift away soon enough.
I have no clue! I wouldn't. Too many people constantly judge. I like my life more private.
