He dressed up as the Joker from Batman and died his hair red for the costume. He entered a movie theater through the exit door. He threw down a smoke bomb and then began shooting people in a rapid fire. They will soon begin psychologically testing him to see if he is sane to stand trial. obviously the guy has some MAJOR issues and mental instabilities. If he knows he did wrong and is sane to stand trial, then he will and will most likely go to jail or receive the death penalty. If he is not sane to stand trial, they will try to get him mental treatment to stabilize him enough to try and stand trial eventually. If he can't, then they'll throw him in a psych ward.
He's clearly mad and there's no reasonable explanation for his actions over the last couple of months, including building an arsenal of weapons, booby trapping his apartment, dying his hair, and killing and maiming 70 people.
Because he's in Colorado he'll get the death sentence if that's what the families of his victims want.
