Have you noticed that Frank has many enemies but none as cunning as him? He always seems to get what he wants. The dirt on him is growing and growing. As he tries to climb the ladder of success why not add one more secret to the pile? Murderer, felon, sexual deviant. It is not like we live in a society where being gay/bi is accepted by all... And married couples who have "open" relationships are not viewed as VP or POTUS material. Be patient... We just may see how this plays out soon. Perhaps a powerful rival may use this against him. I would love to see someone challenge him more. If it never comes to light in the storyline when the show is over we can start to judge.
I just got a taste of Frank Underwood when i saw the series.... and boy it was one turn after another.
Let me tell you, such skillful people really exist and yes they do progress in life faster than the honorable ones.
Now, my assumption is, Frank is either of the below;
1. Gay, but since he's the VP, he has to maintain the public image of having a loving wife etc because it influences public perception of him. (seen in another episode where Claire & him give a press statement)
2. Not Gay: Perhaps, he just wanted or likes to have a threesome. In another episode in Series 2, his bodyguard catches him watching porn, looking closely you can see it was a threesome porn. So maybe he likes threesome.
3. Shock value: Yes quite possible but then they would have shown more detailed scene.
4. Daring Man: Maybe it was there to ascertain his position of a man who is ready to accept anything and use it to his advantage. Just like he did everything to become the P from VP.

Is there a reason for this. Saw episode 8 of season 2 I believe wow wtf. Are they just trying to throw as much shock value into the show as possible? Did not see this coming. Even missed when they implied he had a gay experience with one of his friends in college season 1. I don't really think it really beings anything to the table. Did any of you see this coming
