Why was longmire cancelled????

The networks have to understand that the backbone of Television rests with the baby boomers. Ages 21 to 30 something are watching less and less TV. Find sponsors who have products for baby boomers, and we have a lot of spare cash, to buy. When you go to the dance, you better go home with the one who brought you.

Agreed it was great

Hi. You are not alone - there is a huge outcry to continue the series.

There were a couple reasons A&E cancelled Longmire. At first it seems foolish as Longmire was the 2nd highest rated show right behind Duck Dynasty. However here were the network's issues.

1) The audience for Longmire was older than what the advertisers wanted. As Longmire is an advertised series, it needs the right audience.

2) A few of the actors did cost a lot per episode and the shooting on locations is very costly. The production cost was just too expensive for them.

These are symptoms of all paid advertising based TV series, not just Longmire.

The bright spot is the that A&E has stated they will try to shop the series and there is a possibly TNT may pick up the series.

The network did not state a reason why they cancelled it.
