A subject dear to my own heart.I dont know why more people dont care for the union.Andy Murray win or lose can claim what he wishes but when he is forced to show his passport it will say the proud words so many thousands have died to protect "British Citizen" when i was a young man and got my first passport the even prouder name "British Subject" was used,but there you are. I now await the usual cluster of TDs
well i am not British i am Irish, Scottish are not British they are Scottish and welch are not British they are welsh. because because they are under a UK flag does not mean they are British because the England invaded the countries

what a muppet you sound yes south ireland is not apart of the UK but an northern irish citizen can walk into the Irish embassy and get a irish passport if you are born in ireland north or south you are still irish.
I don't know if the scottish or welsh have their own embassy because the scottish have been kissing that royal family as-s for centuries.
That's the problem with the English education system it's so bi-est i once went to an englsih school and when i asked "what is the history of Ireland they did not know" lol
all english teachers talk is about sh-it that what happen in ww1 and ww2 and when it came to the rest of the UK they did not talk about it. like anyone really cared what happened in ww1 and ww2.
and they the government claims the Northern Ireland, Scotland and wales are apart of the UK the only reason why the 3 counties are when they want them to be
He is a Scot and I am English. We are also part of Great Britain for purposes of taxation etc. However the Scots have their own education system, law system (?), way of buying and selling property, parliament and I seem to remember coinage so where is the problem?
If he wins I will celebrate because he comes from Great Britain but still consider him a Scot.
If he loses I will say it is the British disease of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in sport, yet still acknowledge that he is a Scot!
I think he's always been Scottish - it's not something you can switch in and out of.
I think he also considers himself British.
And the only time i can remember him saying anything different was when he said, jokingly, something like when England play he supports the other side. And listening to folks during the Euros there are plenty of English people who seem to take that stance.
Suddenly switch to being Scottish? are you having a laugh? There is hardly anybody from Scotland who if asked what nationality they are would reply 'British'. Do you live in the real world?
I am hoping that if Andy wins he will have a saltire flag down his shorts which he will use to celebrate another great Scottish victory on the auld enemies soil!!!
