They don't need to. It looks like Ukraine will vote to rejoin Russia.
Russia won't, they will do exactly what they said they would, to prove a point to the EU(that 'Cold War' propaganda can be disproven, simply by holding your ground).
The EU started this mess, they escalated this mess, and they're gonna be the responsible party for the Civil-War, and the decade of Austerity(the IMF, and EU demanded from the new Government), the latter is gonna be something the Ukrainians are gonna regret once they realize what they 'signed-over'.

I wish Russia have done that in the beginning to avoid violence, Just patrolling as peaceful demonstrations.
