Tough Question. Do we have issues? Heck ya. There are alot of items the US needs to tackle. To do that we need some fresh ideas and a House and Senate that can work together instead of just for themselves.
As far as "bombs" or anything of that nature---I don't see that happening. To us or from us. All the "Super Powers" have their own stockpile of weapons. We all know we could blow each other into ash. So why do it? So I wouldn't worry about learning Chinese any time soon. As for going through another "Depression".....if we don't get our finances in order it could happen, but hopefully no one is going to starve to death. We can get out of this slump. It will take strong, smart choices, and may take a few years, but we can do it.
I think it died some time ago. We let in to many immigrants. The culture has changed so greatly in such a short period of time. Personally I do not like living among mexicans with all the crime they bring and I do not appreciate their culture at all. So I voted with my feet and moved to Switzerland.
Why is your head filled with doom and gloom ? Can you provide us with evidence that the USA and the internet will collapse and die in the near future ?

If we decide not to repay our debts,what do you think would happen? Nothing.Democratic legislation is trying by passing another trade agreement,but America is very powerful.
If we don't start getting along better with each other I'm not real positive about the prospects.
