There are American interests in the Kurdish regions of Iraq, to include consulates and assorted private business interests (Halliburton, for example) in or near the village of Erbil, and President Obama sent a security detail and intelligence operatives while simultaneously opting for U.S. military strikes to contain ISIL.
There are other American journalists and a female aid worker held captive in or near Syria (according to clues shown in the posted videos), but a covert-ops attempt to rescue Foley and Sotloff missed them by about an hour---they had been moved just prior to the attempt. There will be no hot-headed retaliation taken, because President Obama likes to get all facts into place before formulating a absolute best (most effective, most efficient) response, so just keep the faith and be patient. Yes, there will be consequences for the brutal slaying of American journalists.
The countries of those paying ransom before Mr. Foley & Mr Sotloff were beheaded (France, Germany...) have a lot of explaining to do, but they know these murders are a direct result, so they cowardly won't.
I just saw a news report that Kurds are reporting American soldiers are on the ground fighting ISIS. I cannot fathom the Kurdish wouldn't know what they're talking about, but this report may change.
RIP Mr Sotloff and Mr Foley!
ISIS is using the media against the US. So if all the media pull out and let the US do the dirty work that needs to be done without cameras, I would bet things would be alot different
They chose to go to a dangerous war zone area where they knew they could be captured and killed but they chose to do so.It's not anyone's fault they knew it would be a risk but still decided to do it.
Sotlof was also an Israeli citizen! What does Israel have to say?
Usually the people to cry revenge are not the ones who will take revenge..it is easy to kick butt and kill people when your sitting on your couch.
Yes. if not immediately by America then by Almighty God himself.
