I can't believe I am going to defend Victor but here goes-
Victor is in shock that his son died, regardless of how Victor feels about Adam deep down he does love him (in his own warped way) and when a person is in shock sometimes they just go numb. I know when my grandfather died last year I didn't shed a single tear, it doesn't mean I didn't cherish him but I'm just not an overly emotional person like that.
Another thing to remember about Victor is he puts on a front, he feels expressing any kind of tender thougths/feelings makes him vulnerable and powerless, which is why he puts his walls up as a way to protect himself.
Is he going to use Adam's death to his advantage? Abosoloutely, he sees an opening to get close to his grandson and he's going to take it but I don't think it means he doesn't wish Adam were dead nor that he doesn't love him, the two things are not mutually exclusive.
What I do find disgusting is how Victor won't take responsibility for his part in this tragedy- Victor damn well knew Adam was the driver, yet instead of turning his son into the cops he blackmails him instead, because of that Adam was free and Billy sought justice leading up to the accident. Had Victor turned his son in, Adam would be in jail and Billy wouldn't have to resort to extreme measures to seek justice, Adam would be alive and Connor would grow up with a father.... because of Victor that is not possible. The fact he STILL sits there with a smug look on his face sickens me!
I have a theory I bet Victor thinks Adam is still alive in his head. But Victor is just moving into Adams' territory trying to get close to Chelsea and of course Connor to his own advantage. He is disgusting for sure.
Victor has always dealt with grief in his own way. Example when his best friend Katherine died. I think he does love Adam deep down but their relationship is very damaged and complexed. If you remember in today's show he did have flashbacks of Adam as a young boy, teaching him how to play soccer and such. Victor is just a very complicated man. He even told the love of his life, Nikki that he wished she was dead in front of his own children. I do agree that he does have an obsession with Connor, almost as if he gets a new slate with Adams child when he could not be there for Adam? Adam has done some very disturbing things over the years, but he kind of mellowed out for awhile until he accidentally ran over Delia. Victor has trust issues, and never will completely trust anyone due to his own abandonment issues. So I do think Victor is grieving but this is his way of showing it. Can't stand the dude, but this is my observation after watching him for a number of years lol
Victor is being disgustingly worse than ever these days.
He wants to be in control of Connor
I agree that Jack has been more of a father and friend to Adam. Of course Victor will get close to Chelsea for Connor...
Seeing that Eric Braeden never cared for Michael Muhney in real life, I don't think he gives a damn that ''Adam'' is dead.
Well said James.
Yes! is he so heartless and has no sympathy toward anyone.
Just an obsession toward Connor, "what's mine is mine" and you can't have him attitude.
Wow he doesn't give a damn about his own son's well being Jack seemed more concern than Victor I know Jack was like a father to him but seriously the black knight didn't even shed a tear he's gonna take advantage of Chelsea and get close to Connor.
